Nintendo Switch 2 Full Physical Games

The Nintendo Switch 2 is here and Nintendo have introduced Game-Key Cards: physical cartridges that don't contain full game data but rather act purely as a key to download the game from the eShop, and then play the game on the console.

While this is definitely an improvement from code-in-box titles (although those are still kicking around too ), these aren't true physical titles, and still require you to have digital storage space to download the games.

Thankfully, at least some of the games releasing for Nintendo Switch 2 do have the complete game on the cartridge, and here's a handy list of all of them along with links to where you can buy them on The Game Collection.

Do note that post-release patches and updates may make downloading additional data necessary and that these updates will require internal storage, as is already the case with most modern physical games.

Here's hoping that Nintendo increase the maximum capacity of the Switch 2 cartridges (Cyberpunk 2077 comes on a 64GB cart – the largest at the time of writing) so we hopefully see more full physical releases for Nintendo Switch 2!
