The time has finally come around again! We’re saying Hallo to Cologne, Germany, as we head to gamescom 2026!
Taking place from 26–30 August, gamescom is set to be packed with upcoming releases, new gameplay, trailers, announcements and plenty of surprises. And, of course, we’ll be there to experience it all first-hand and bring you the latest from the show floor!
With so much happening across the week, here are some of the things we’re looking forward to…
gamescom Opening Night Live
Tuesday 25 August at 6:30pm BST | 7:30pm CEST
Before gamescom officially gets underway, Opening Night Live will kick things off on Tuesday 25 August, hosted by renowned games journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley.
The live showcase is always one of the biggest events of gamescom week, with an evening packed of world premiers, exclusive announcements, new games, trailers, gameplay reveals and a few surprises along the way.
We can also expect special guests, developer appearances and plenty of those “did that just happen?” moments that make Opening Night Live one of the highlights of Gamescom week.
Xbox is Bringing Plenty to gamescom
Xbox is going all out at gamescom this year, with 140 gaming stations featuring 25 upcoming games for attendees to get hands-on with.
Among the games appearing at the Xbox booth are Fable, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Alien: Isolation 2, Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons II, METRO 2039 and STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, alongside plenty more.
There'll also be developers on hand to meet players, making it a great opportunity to get closer to some of the games we're all waiting to play.
Xbox will also be hosting livestreams on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August at 3pm BST / 4pm CEST, featuring developer interviews, special guests, gameplay reveals, trailers and more.
